‘Leeds set to miss out on Kostas Tsimikas amid Liverpool developments’

Leeds United have been handed a major stumbling block in their pursuit of Liverpool left-back Kostas Tsimikas.

Football Insider previously exclusively revealed that Premier League newcomers Leeds can sign Tsimikas for £15million this summer.

Having earned bags of top-flight nous courtesy of his Liverpool career, Tsimikas would have a lot to offer to the freshly promoted West Yorkshire side.

Furthermore, Liverpool are set to sign Milos Kerkez from Bournemouth this summer, altering the Greece international’s place in Arne Slot’s pecking order.

Andy Robertson transfer interest could scupper Leeds’ efforts to sign Tsimikas

If Slot acquires Kerkez this summer and retains the services of Andy Robertson, the Reds should be willing to sell Tsimikas to Farke’s men.

However, Atletico Madrid want to sign Robertson from Liverpool, which would make the Premier League champions reluctant to part company with Tsimikas.

Should Robertson move to the Spanish capital, Slot will likely want both the former Olympiacos man and potential new signing Kerkez at his disposal.

But if Leeds fail to sign Tsimikas this summer, it could damage their chances of achieving Premier League survival next season.

Leeds must turn attention to Alex Moreno signing

After winning the Championship title last term, Farke now has a huge job on his hands in readying Leeds for next season’s Premier League.

Courtesy of the ever-increasing gap between the top flight and the second tier, the West Yorkshire outfit must be intent on strengthening their ranks in almost every position.

However, left-back remains a particular concern, with last season’s starter Junior Firpo set to leave Leeds this summer, after notching four goals and 10 assists in the Championship.

Tsimikas would have been an ideal replacement for Firpo, but if Liverpool sell Robertson, then that is an avenue the Elland Road club can no longer explore.

Meanwhile, Football Insider have exclusively revealed that Aston Villa’s Alex Moreno wants to join Leeds, and presents himself as a potential alternative to Tsimikas.

Moreno spent last season on loan at Nottingham Forest, having fallen out of favour at Villa, and should be keen to enjoy stable game time under Farke.

Elsewhere, the Whites want to sign former Norwich City star Max Aarons, as reported by MOT Leeds News.
