Kieran Maguire issues ‘one of the best’ claim as Leeds United agree ‘£4m’ deal
Leeds United have likely signed “one of the best” sleeve sponsorship deals outside the so-called ‘Big Six’ in the Premier League.
That is the view of finance guru Kieran Maguire, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about Leeds’ new partnership with e-commerce platform Wish.
The deal, which was announced on Wednesday (13 July), will see the American company’s branding adorn the Whites’ shirts for the 2022-23 campaign.
The deal represents a resumption of the one-year partnership Leeds had with Wish in the 2019-20 campaign.
The West Yorkshire side were in the Championship back then but are now gearing up for their third successive season in the top flight.
Maguire benchmarked Leeds against the likes of Newcastle United and suggested that they may have pocketed as much as £4million from the Wish deal.
“Leeds don’t have a new fanbase or new level of interest in the same way that Newcastle have in terms of the relationship with Saudi Arabia,” he told Football Insider’s Adam Williams.
“They would be delighted if they could get anywhere near the £7.5m that Newcastle have asked for. The going rate is lower than that.
“But I would expect Leeds’s deal to be one of the best of the other 14 in terms of sleeve sponsors. I think they would be happy if they got £3m or £4m given that they were almost relegated last season.”

Leeds trousered £36m in commercial income in 2020-21, the last financial year on record.
