Leeds missed out on two top summer targets after Orta reveal - pundit
Leeds United should have signed another left-back and a new attacking midfielder during the transfer window, according to Gabby Agbonlahor.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Aston Villa and England forward claimed Leeds may have “missed out on a couple of signings” this summer.
Sporting director Victor Orta told the Yorkshire Evening Post at the end of August he is comfortable with the depth of the Whites’ squad.
Leeds only added Dan James, Junior Firpo and young goalkeeper Kristoffer Klaesson to the squad that finished ninth in the Premier League last term.
Meanwhile, Gianni Alioski, Helder Costa and Ian Poveda – who all played significant roles last season – left the club with Costa and Poveda moving on loan.
“They’re probably missing another attacking midfielder, they could do with a number 10 to help unlock defences,” Agbonlahor told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley.

“Another left-back as well.
“They’ve probably missed out on a couple of signings but Leeds don’t really rotate the team a lot. Their team plays every minute of every game.
“Maybe Marcelo Bielsa is happy with his team and he knows that his team don’t need to be rotated. They’re not in Europe.
“He’s also got young players that he can play in the Carabao Cup or the FA Cup.
“So, yes, I’m sure Bielsa is happy with his squad, to be honest.”
Leeds were targeting Huddersfield Town midfielder Lewis O’Brien over the summer.
However, Football Insider revealed on 28 August they had pulled the plug on their pursuit as the clubs could not agree a fee for the 22-year-old.
