Young gun: Cook could do with a wise head to help him, says Lorimer

Leeds were four goals down after just 38 minutes against Brighton as they were humbled 4-0 in Monday night’s Championship clash – and Twitter went into predictable meltdown.

A brace from Tomer Hemed, a header from Lewis Dunk and an own-goal from Liam Cooper put the Seagulls in cruise control before the half-time whistle.

Brighton did not add to their considerable first-half advantage after the break, but the damage had already been well and truly done.

With the embarrassing antics of owner Massimo Cellino, the managerial merry-go-round and the overall heart-breaking performances this season, Leeds fans have had plenty to scream about this year. Or rather scream at.

With a sizable travelling support, there were plenty of fans who felt the four hour plus journey was just not worth it.

Leeds were split on who to blame, between the seemingly all-powerful owner that has full control over transfers and the manager Steve Evans.

After the almost comical display from Leeds, this Twitter user’s description was spot on.

The result leaves Evans’ side 17 points off a play-off place.

More worryingly for supporters, Leeds are now just nine points above the relegation zone after one win in 11 games.
