Leeds United player ratings v QPR – Archie Gray shines, 2/10 stinks
Leeds United suffered a massive blow to their automatic promotion hopes as they lost 4-0 to QPR on Friday (26 April).
Ilias Chair, Lucas Andersen, Lyndon Dykes and Sam Field were on the scoresheet at Loftus Road as the home side secured their Championship safety.
Football Insider rates the Leeds players out of 10 for their performances from their penultimate match of the season.
Illan Meslier [3]
It was a very frustrating night for the Leeds number one, who will be very disappointed to have conceded four times against a side struggling in the table, along with the manner in which the goals were conceded.

Sam Byram [2]
Like Meslier, Byram did not have a good time at Loftus Road, with the right-back often caught out of position while he massively struggled to cope with Chair, having been booked after just 17 minutes for a wild lunge on the QPR ace. The defender won just three of his six duels before being withdrawn just after the hour mark.
Joe Rodon [4]
His stellar reputation has taken a few hits of late, and this was yet another. Rodon will perhaps be annoyed with himself for his dealing of Chair’s opener, with the ball deflecting off the Wales ace and into the back of the net, with the centre-back enduring a very tricky night overall.
Ethan Ampadu [6]
Like Rodon, Ampadu was also up against it from the first to last whistles, with the hosts clearly up for the challenge of pushing up the Championship table and away from the dreaded relegation zone.
Junior Firpo [5]
Firpo did try and get forward as much as possible to help out his attacking teammates, but he ultimately couldn’t have a significant impact in that area, while his defensive duties were often ignored.
Ilia Gruev [3]
Gruev often switched off against the QPR midfield, in a battle that he would have expected to win, with the 23-year-old well beaten by his opposite numbers on and off the ball.
Archie Gray [7]
The young star is perhaps the only Whites man who can hold his head high after the match in West London, with Gray registering a 90% pass success rate and winning all four of his duels.
Wilfried Gnonto [3]
Gnonto has been in great form under Daniel Farke lately, but it was an off-night for the Italian, who looked lazy from the first whistle regarding his defensive duties, while there was also no real urgency from the winger in the final third.
Georginio Rutter [3]
Rutter was quite simply non-existent in the first half at Loftus Road, with the forward completely failing to get into the game, with those issues largely continuing after the break. The Whites ace won just six of his 14 duels before being hooked with just over 10 minutes remaining.

Crysencio Summerville [6]
Summerville has undoubtedly been the leading man for Leeds this season, but he wasn’t at his usual electric self, although he did shine brightest of the starting attackers, which summarises how poor the Whites were going forward.
Joel Piroe [5]
Coming in for Patrick Bamford, there was plenty of pressure on Piroe to not only impress in the final third but to find the back of the net. Under that pressure, the striker ultimately failed his audition.
