‘Leeds United ready to sign an entire new squad – they’ve got the resources’
Leeds United fans will be desperate to buck the trend of recent promoted clubs in the Premier League with the club eyeing consolidation as they return to the top flight.
Football Insider has revealed (11 May) that Leeds are planning to back Daniel Farke with a huge transfer budget of more than £100million this summer.
Leeds are lining up ten new signings to bolster their squad despite winning the Championship title ahead of Burnley this term.
Everton’s former chief Keith Wyness – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – has insisted the Yorkshire giants will be planning to replace their “entire squad” in the next two years.
‘Leeds hatch two-year Premier League plan’
Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, Wyness claimed 49ers Enterprises will give Leeds the resources to refresh their entire playing staff should they secure survival next term.
The Whites will discover their first Premier League opponents on 18 June with the 2025-26 campaign set to kick off on 16 August.
Wyness insisted Leeds will be in a battle for 17th next term – but claimed he expects them to survive relegation.

He told Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast: “I do expect them to be in the bottom six next year, but I expect them to survive.
“I think the £150million number is a bit fanciful. I’m going to stick with my forecast of up to £100million in spending this summer.
“It’s going to be a battle for 17th place but I think that investment will be enough to make a run at it.
“You have a squad to stay up, and then you have to build almost an entire new squad to push on if you achieve it.
“There’s no doubt the 49ers will back them in doing that. They’ve got the resources to do it.”

Leeds race to land £25m Southampton star
Meanwhile, Football Insider has revealed (23 May) that Aston Villa, West Ham and Leeds are eyeing moves for Southampton midfielder Matheus Fernandes.
The Saints face a losing fight to keep hold of Fernandes following relegation, with the club valuing him around £25million.
He joined from Sporting CP last summer (2024) and is under contract until June 2029.
