‘Leeds United ready to trigger sensational £150m signing spree’
Leeds United are planning to strengthen their squad significantly this summer after securing promotion back to the Premier League.
Daniel Farke’s side claimed the Championship title after finishing above second-place Burnley on goal difference.
Football Insider revealed on 7 May Leeds will have a £150million budget in the upcoming summer transfer window.
Finance expert Stefan Borson exclusively told Football Insider it wouldn’t be a surprise to see the Yorkshire giants spend £150million as they look to stay in the Premier League next season.
Speaking to the BBC on 4 May, Leeds chairman Paraag Marathe discussed the club’s ambitions following their title success.
He said: “Together we are going to build the best squad we can, with every penny we are allowed to spend to be competitive in the Premier League.”
The American also gave his backing to Farke after confirming he will lead Leeds into next season following speculation about his future.

Leeds told to blow Southampton out of the water
Borson insisted Leeds must spend more than last season’s promoted sides after Ipswich Town, Leicester City and Southampton have all been relegated.
He told Football Insider: “I think they could spend £150million, largely because in isolation you can’t really read too much into it.
“They may well have some financial fair play challenges, PSR challenges, but it would not surprise me if they understand that they need to be spending something like £150million to give themselves a chance of staying in the Premier League.
“How they deal with that, they may think about it more mid-season and towards the end of next season to see how it goes.
“But we’ve seen what happens if you only spend £100million now. If you come up and spend £100million, you’ve got a problem.
“All of those teams that have come up spent close to £100million, maybe not Leicester, but certainly Southampton and Ipswich spent £100million, and they weren’t even close to staying up.
“It would not surprise me at all if they spend £150million.”

Joel Piroe hit by crushing blow after Leeds reveal
Football Insider revealed on 6 May Leeds won’t build their attack around Joel Piroe as they look to put a squad together capable of remaining in the Premier League.
The 25-year-old ended the season as the Championship’s top scorer with 19 goals.
However, it is believed Leeds have question marks over Piroe’s ability to make the step up and won’t count on him as their first-choice striker next season.
