Leeds United slammed over ‘disrespectful’ Daniel Farke sack silence
Leeds United may have only just secured promotion to the Premier League, but already speculation is rife over the future manager Daniel Farke and it hasn’t been shut down by the club.
The German has a poor record in the top-flight from his time with Norwich City, suffering relegation after finishing bottom in his first season in the division.
After returning to the Premier League, Farke was then sacked by the Canaries after 11 games in which he amassed just five points.
As a result, there were suggestions from Gabby Agbonlahor that, in the wake of promotion Leeds could sack Farke this summer to give them the best chance of avoiding relegation next season.

Alan Brazil hits out at Daniel Farke latest
It was subsequently reported that Leeds are indeed considering replacing Farke this summer, if they can find the right option to take over at Elland Road.
While those claims over Farke’s future left Agbonlahor with a sense of vindication, it seems the managerial situation at the club remains far from clear.
Providing an update on talkSPORT, journalist Alex Crook revealed Leeds have declined to comment on those rumours they are considering changing manager, suggesting such reports are “disrespectful”.
Championship position | Played | Points |
1. Leeds United | 44 | 94 |
2. Burnley | 44 | 94 |
3. Sheffield United | 44 | 86 |
Alan Brazil however, was far from impressed with the stance the Yorkshire outfit have taken by not flatly dismissing suggestions they could sack there manager.
Giving his reaction to that latest update from Crook, the former Ipswich, Tottenham and Man United striker said: “I think they’re [Leeds] disrespectful not confirming that: ‘Listen, we’re celebrating, we’re back in the promised land and we want to stay there, and Daniel will be our manager.
“By saying nothing, sitting on the fence, I think that’s disrespectful.”
Crook did then go on to note that a review of the managerial situation was always planned for the end of the season Farke is not currently thought to be fearing the prospect of an imminent sacking by Leeds.
Leeds United only add to managerial uncertainty with response to speculation
Football Insider Verdict
Had the club come out and issued a response confirming Farke will be staying as manager, it is unlikely the situation would be getting as much attention given the clarification that would have provided.
As it is, Leeds have not denied they will make a change in the dugout in the coming weeks, and so people are understandably still going to discuss it as a possibility.
With that in mind there is going to be a lingering distraction around the club in the form of that uncertainty around Farke for the time being.
While they have secured promotion, there is still a Championship title to be won, with Leeds currently level on points with fellow promotion winner Burnley with two games to go.
This speculation may therefore have been something they could have done without as they look to end a strong season on a high.
Leeds will want as long as possible to prepare for a return to the Premier League to ensure the best chance of avoiding relegation, so they will need to make a decision on Farke quickly one way or another.
