Leeds United source reveals expected Daniel Farke transfer kitty if they get promoted

Leeds United could have a transfer kitty of up to £100million to spend in the off-season if they are promoted to the Premier League, sources have told Football Insider.

The newest development in the Championship promotion race saw Southampton slip five points behind the Whites – who beat league leaders Leicester 2-1 on Friday (23 February).

Second-placed Leeds are level on points with third-placed Ipswich with 12 games remaining of the 2023-24 campaign.

It is believed the Yorkshire giants will see their budget boosted if they go up automatically due to increased revenue and TV money in the top-flight.

A well-placed source has told Football Insider that Leeds boss Daniel Farke could be handed a budget of between £75-100million for new signings in the event of promotion.

Football Insider revealed earlier this month (15 February) that Farke is in line to be offered a new contract if the club return to the Premier League.

Leeds were only relegated last year (2023) and were forced to sell several key men as a result of dropping into the Championship.

But promotion would allow a fresh wave of recruitment at Elland Road as well as aiding in persuading the likes of Crysencio Summerville to renew at the club.

US-based group 49ers Enterprises bought 100% of Leeds last summer (2023) and have already provided significant transfer backing.

Farke’s side are next in action against Chelsea in the FA Cup on Wednesday (28 February).
