Leeds tipped to seal 'bargain' deal for Boulaya after update - Agbonlahor

Gabby Agbonlahor has claimed a £3.8million deal for winger Farid Boulaya could be a “bargain” for Leeds United.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Aston Villa and England forward claimed United will have watched the 28-year-old extensively and deemed him a good fit in Marcelo Bielsa’s system.

Mohamed TOUBACHE-TER reported on 18 July, via Get French Football News, that Leeds have entered talks with Metz over a potential deal.

Boulaya has just 12 months left to run on his Metz contract and is reportedly available for just £3.8million (€4.5million).

LUFCFanZone reported the same day the player’s agent refused to deny the links.

Algeria international Boulaya enjoyed his best-ever season last term.

He scored six times and provided eight assists in 33 Ligue 1 appearances as Metz finished mid-table in 10th.

In his three years with Metz, Boulaya has scored 14 goals and contributed 18 assists in 107 games across all competitions.

Asked whether a £3.8million deal would be good for Leeds, Agbonlahor told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley: “Yes, it seems like a bargain.

“And I’m sure Leeds won’t just be judging it on those stats. They will have watched him numerous times and see if he fits what they’re looking for.

“They’ll be buying him not just because of his stats but because he’s a good player.”

Leeds have already bolstered their first-team squad this summer with the arrival of defender Junior Firpo from Barcelona.

The majority of their business has been academy arrivals with Amari Miller, Sean McGurk and Lewis Bate all moving to Elland Road on permanent deals.

In other news, Leeds United are in advanced talks to sign a player for the first team.
