Leeds United to hold Wilfried Gnonto talks after source’s ‘huge’ reveal – pundit
Leeds United will discuss Wilfried Gnonto’s future at the end of the season.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, former Tottenham and Rangers defender Alan Hutton claimed that the Whites could be forced to sell Gnonto, 20, if they don’t get promoted, but may hold contract talks if they return to the Premier League.
Well-placed sources have told Football Insider (21 April) that Daniel Farke’s side will accept a bid of around £30million for the Italian’s services this summer.
Following major interest from Everton last summer, Gnonto has had an inconsistent season in the Championship but bagged his eighth league goal in Leeds’ 4-3 win against Middlesbrough on Monday night (22 April).
Wilfried Gnonto to pen new Leeds United contract?
Hutton admitted that £30million could be too steep a price for prospective buyers this summer and suggested the Yorkshire giants could offer Gnonto a new deal.
“If Leeds don’t quite make the automatic spots and then lose the play-offs, they may have to sell players,” he told Football Insider.
“£30million is a huge fee for Gnonto, so they’ll have to find someone willing to pay that.
“Gnonto is a real talent and you can see the quality that he has.
“But there’s a lot of ifs and buts.

“For now, the club and Gnonto will be focusing on getting promoted, but they could discuss a new contract at the end of the season, it will happen.
“There’s no doubt that he’s a quality player and there will be interest.”
