‘Leeds United to line up bargain Aaron Ramsdale deal after Southampton blow’
Aaron Ramsdale might be ready to jump ship to Leeds United days after Southampton’s relegation from the Premier League.
Despite the Saints still having seven league matches remaining, it is no longer mathematically possible for the club to survive, with Ivan Juric already parting ways with Southampton.
It has been an incredibly difficult campaign for the newly promoted side, having only won two games all season, and now battling not to break Derby County’s record of winning a measly 10 points.
Football Insider understands that Man City and Tottenham are interested in Tyler Dibling’s signature this summer, with teams already looking ahead to the transfer window, and Ramsdale might be one to follow him out the exit doors.
Leeds United to take advantage of Southampton’s relegation in Aaron Ramsdale deal
The 26-year-old has rarely stayed in the same place longer than a single season, with his time at Arsenal the only exception, and he could very likely be ready to escape St Mary’s this summer.
Having suffered relegations with Sheffield United and Bournemouth, and now dealt the same fate with the Saints, it might not be too difficult for Daniel Farke to persuade him over to Elland Road.
Football Insider understands that Leeds are encouraged about a potential deal for Ramsdale, especially now that he has sunk back down to the Championship, and he would likely be the first choice for Farke.
While his record has been smeared by an awful defence in front of him, at more than one club, there is no doubt he has superb abilities in between the sticks, and saved the Saints from even more embarrassment this season.

Daniel Farke must replace Illan Meslier after Luton Town snub
Farke cannot be too fussy when it comes to goalkeepers at the moment, with Illan Meslier left out of the Leeds lineup to face Luton Town last time out, and Karl Darlow making his first league start of the season.
The Frenchman has made numerous serious blunders in between the sticks, all of which have seen the Whites slip to third in the Championship table despite holding a five-point lead at one point.

Burnley and Sheffield United have leapfrogged the team into first and second, and with Leeds slipping closer to a spot in the play-offs, there is no way fans will want Meslier to continue as number one at Elland Road.
The Whites need a goalkeeper who is experienced in the top flight of English football, whether they reach the Premier League this summer or not, and a move for Ramsdale makes perfect sense.
With the Saints now set to start next season in the Championship, Leeds will have a very good case for why the shot-stopper, yet to reach his peak, should be interested in a move to West Yorkshire.
As a full England international with Premier League pedigree he won’t be cheap, but he is bound to be a lot more affordable now that the Saints have to cut costs in the wake of a damaging relegation.
But with the chaos that could follow if Farke fails to get the Whites over the line and back to the top flight, priority number one must be secured or it may not be the German who is deciding who to field next season.
