Kenny: The 'sky is the limit' for Leeds United after £14m reveal and official announcement

The “sky is the limit” for Leeds United who are on television so regularly because they are “so entertaining to watch.”

That is according to ex-Whites goalkeeper Paddy Kenny, speaking exclusively to Football Insider after Leeds relayed August’s TV schedule via their official website on 18th June.

Two of Leeds’ first three Premier League fixtures, against Man United and Burnley respectively, have been earmarked for broadcast.

Football finance expert Kieran Maguire told this site on 13th June that Leeds earned an extra £14million in 2020-21 on top of their share of the overall TV deal.

Marcelo Bielsa’s newly-promoted side finished 9th last season playing a daredevil brand of football which charmed many neutral supporters.

And Kenny claims their cavalier approach will continue to pay dividends in the 2021-22 campaign.

He told Football Insider correspondent Adam Williams: “They were on TV so often because there were about 10 goals in every game they played.

“They are so entertaining to watch and that’s why they are always on the telly. They’ll earn just as much this season, probably.

“They’ve got a tough start but there could easily be a few upsets because Leeds did so well against those top sides last season.

“If they play like they do against the bigger clubs against some of the other teams, then the sky is the limit.”

Leeds face Man United, Everton, Burnley, Liverpool, Newcastle and West Ham in their opening six matches.

They took 17 points from those same teams last season.
