Leeds United told to think twice about Jesse Marsch after source’s reveal – Campbell

Leeds United should give Jesse Marsch until at least the end of the season, according to Kevin Campbell.

The former Arsenal and Everton striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, suggested the 48-year-old is the right man for the job.

Marsch has relieved pressure on his position at Elland Road following a 2-1 win over Liverpool on Saturday (29 October).

Sources told Football Insider in the build-up to the match (25 October) that the Whites boss may not retain his job beyond the World Cup if results did not improve.

The board were understood to be by compiling a shortlist of potential replacements for Marsch prior to the trip to Anfield.

The ex-RB Leipzig manager is under contract at Elland Road until the end of June 2025.

When asked by Football Insider if Marsch should be under pressure in light of recent results, Campbell said: “No, I don’t.

“I think Jesse Marsch is doing a good job, especially when you consider where the club was when he arrived.

“Previously it was [Marcelo] Bielsa’s way or the highway. Marsch has had to change a lot of things and put his own spin on things.

“He kept them up last season. Fans should not forget that.

“There has been some poor results but the performances on the whole have been good.

“They have also beaten Chelsea and Liverpool this season. That is two massive scalps. They have got it in them. They can compete with the best.

“At the very least, Marsch should get to the end of the season.”
