Michael Brown has been wowed by Leeds United efforts to complete the permanent signing of Ben White.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider assistant editor Russell Edge, the former Leeds man did admit that completed the signing of White is going to be “difficult”.
Leeds had their third bid totalling £30m for White rejected by Brighton, as revealed by Football Insider.
The Whites’ opening bid of £18m was rejected as was their second offer of £22.5m.
Asked by Football Insider whether he can see White moving to Elland Road this summer, Brown said: “It was always going to be a difficult one with Ben White because of the attention of other clubs.
“Brighton won’t want to let him go for any money. They’ll be thinking they can get him into their team.
“Leeds United will do everything possible and Ben White will appreciate the pull of Leeds United.
“It would be a great addition and it’s great that the club are trying to find the finances to bring in these good players.”
White has only played two games for Brighton in the League Cup and has also had loan spells at Newport County and Peterborough United.
At Newport he was described as “the best loan signing the club has ever made” by manager Michael Flynn.
He featured in all 46 of Leeds’ games last season scoring once as they clinched the Championship title and returned to the Premier League for the first time in 16 seasons.
The defender was also awarded the club’s young player of the season award.
