Leeds United will sign another Red Bull star after two done deals – pundit

Jesse Marsch will continue to exploit his links with the Red Bull group while rebuilding his Leeds United squad.

That’s according to ex-Whites stopper Paddy Kenny, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about his former side’s summer business.

Leeds announced the signing of Brenden Aaronson, 21, from RB Leipzig on May 26, their first senior signing of the summer.

Then, on 3 June, Football Insider revealed the club have also agreed personal terms with RB Salzburg right-back Rasmus Kristensen.

Marsch had managed New York Red Bulls, Red Bull Salzburg and RB Leipzig before arriving at Elland Road in February 2022.

Thanks to his connections, Kenny is expecting more players from the Red Bull Group to join Leeds this summer and claims they could even come at a discount.

“That’s why you bring this kind of manager in,” Kenny told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“It’s like Celtic and their manager. It’s paid off for them. It’s good Leeds have someone like Jesse Marsch, who has those connections.

“He can exploit his position and sign players from the clubs he knows.

“They might not cost as much as some players who are at bigger, established clubs.”

Despite suffering various injury blows to key players in the first half of the 2021-22 season, Marcelo Bielsa did not make an addition to his squad in January.

The Whites avoided relegation from the Premier League on the final day (22 May) as they beat Brentford 2-1.
