Leeds United’s updated Jack Harrison transfer plan revealed

Leeds United are planning to sell Jack Harrison if they stay in the Premier League to raise funds for new signings ahead of next season.

Harrison struggled for game time at Leeds in the first half of this campaign and so was sent out on loan to Fiorentina in January.

He is yet to make much of an impact in Serie A so far, but is unlikely to return to Elland Road and be a part of Daniel Farke’s plans.

As I revealed on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Transfer Insider podcast, Leeds will look to offload Harrison if they remain in the Premier League this season.

He is set to be a part of Leeds’ transfer plans if they survive, but it remains unclear if they would look to sell him ahead of a return to the Championship.

Jack Harrison has no future at Leeds if they stay in the Premier League

Sources have told Football Insider that Fiorentina are not planning to buy Harrison this summer, despite holding a £6million option to do so in his loan contract.

Many Leeds fans would welcome his permanent departure, given the nature of his previous loan exit to Everton, and it looks as if their wishes will be granted if the club stay in the top flight for next term.

Speaking on the Transfer Insider podcast, I explained: “If Leeds do stay up in the Premier League, I’m sure they’ll be looking to strengthen in the squad.

“They might see somebody like Jack Harrison as surplus to requirements, and maybe move him on to boost their own transfer kitty.”

Joel Piroe could leave Leeds for Rangers due to ownership links

Another Leeds player that could leave the club this summer is out-of-favour striker Piroe, who was linked with an exit alongside Harrison in the January window.

He has failed to score in 13 league appearances this season, with just 14 minutes played in the top flight since the turn of the year.

Sources have told Football Insider that Rangers could sign Piroe this summer by using the links between the two clubs at board level, after they were reportedly interested in his signature in the winter.

Much like Harrison, he looks likely to leave if they stay in the Premier League, but could well be retained if they succumb to relegation this season.
