Leeds close to signing £59,000-a-week ace - reports

Leeds United are on the verge of signing Hamburg striker Pierre-Michel Lasogga, according to a report.
German newspaper Hamburger Abendblatt claim that the Championship giants are close to landing the forward, 25.
It is said that Lasogga, who is surplus to requirements at the Bundesliga club, “stands before” a move to Leeds.
The former Germany Under-21 international is currently carrying a minor injury and is not training after being frozen out of the Hamburg set-up.
This comes after German newspaper Bild reported that Leeds have registered their interest in signing Lasogga and that Hamburg are willing to subsidise what could be a loan deal for one of their top earners, who has a salary of £59,000-a-week.

The Yorkshire club’s reported interest comes at a time when they are fending off huge interest in striker Chris Wood.
As revealed by Football Insider today, three Premier League clubs have tabled formal bids for the Championship leading scorer of last season.
Lasogga, who has two years remaining on his contract, had a poor 2016-17 season but his overall record in the German top flight is impressive.
He has scored 34 goals in 128 Bundesliga matches and has netted 30 times in 107 appearances in all competitions since joining Hamburg in 2013.
At previous club Hertha Berlin, Lasogga scored 24 goals in 69 matches.
Leeds have signed 10 new players this summer, including headline captures Samuel Saiz and Ezgjan Alioski.
