Leeds warned: Neil shares selection plan ahead of Norwich clash

By Will Butcher

Norwich City boss Alex Neil has delivered a staunch warning to Leeds by revealing that he will pick a strong squad on Tuesday night.

The two sides are set to meet in the fourth round of the EFL Cup at Elland Road, as both sides eye a place in the quarter finals of the tournament.

Speaking to the Daily Express, former Hamilton boss Neil has revealed that the Canaries will pick a side that has the quality to triumph over the Yorkshire giants.

“The team that I will put out will be more than capable of winning the game,” Neil told the Daily Express. “I’m not going up there with an under-strength team by any means.

“We’re going up there to try to win the game. The cup is important to us. You’ve seen the teams that I’ve put out where we went to Everton and managed to win the game.”

Norwich have reached this stage after beating Premier league side Everton 2-0, thanks to goals from Steven Naismith and Jacob Murphy.

A return to Elland Road for Jonny Howson will not be on the cards though, after the midfielder was ruled out for two months following an operation on his ankle.

Leeds come into the game off the back of a 1-0 away win against Wolves on Saturday, but have it all to do against the Championship title contenders.

The Yorkshire giants will be without captain Liam Bridcutt, Northern Ireland winger Stuart Dallas and former Serie A defender Gaetano Berardi.
