Legal expert: Antonio Conte has 'no grasp' of contract law as latest Tottenham comments analysed
Antonio Conte has “no grasp” of English contract law as questions remain over his Tottenham future.
That is according to Spurs insider and lawyer John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.
While Conte, 52, shot down fresh links to PSG on Friday (29 April), labelling them “fake news” (football.london), he again refused to commit his future to Spurs.
This comes with Mauricio Pochettino’s future still in doubt despite winning the league with the French giants.
When asked for his reaction by Football Insider‘s Ben Wild, Wenham said, “Well it’s not ideal, is it?
“I’m a lawyer and to hear Conte saying ‘I’m not sure what I’m going to do’, well, you are under contract so you are staying.

“Are you going to breach your contract, is that what you are saying?
“It’s a bit unusual because it seems like Conte has no grasp of English contract law.
“He was happy to sign the deal and earn a load of money so it is unthinkable to question whether he is staying next season.
“You have a contract, simple as. We are paying you for next year, that is guaranteed.
“The only way Conte leaves is if he is sacked or if he tells the club he’s leaving, that would be a breach of contract.
“It’s frustrating because how can we plan or back him this summer if he won’t commit to being the manager?“
Tottenham are next in action against Liverpool on Saturday (7 May).
They remain in the top-four hunt after their win over Leicester (1 May).
