Leicester City fans all say the same about Patson Daka as new free transfer update emerges
Patson Daka could be all but finished at Leicester City after the news of which new striker could be added to the squad.
Football Insider understands that Marti Cifuentes is games away from being sacked by the Foxes, who are currently sitting 13th in the Championship table after 20 matches.
Despite going two goals ahead, Cifuentes’ side drew 2-2 with Bristol City in their last outing, leading to more furious voices emerging at the King Power Stadium. All is not good.
The club’s current top scorer is Jordan James, with five goals to his name, and that stat alone highlights the struggles that the Foxes are facing.
With that in mind, supporters have learned of the news that former West Ham striker Michail Antonio is training with Leicester as a free agent, though no decisions have been made on next steps.
Michail Antonio is already preferred to Patson Daka
Supporters were initially stunned by the news, although Antonio has since played for Jamaica since his contract with the Hammers expired. Quickly, attention turned to their current squad.
The majority of responses have been excited by the news, suggesting that he is “miles better” than Daka already, as long as he remains on decent wages and manages to stay as fit as possible.
Fans also admitted that they would take a “half-fit” Antonio over their current options, truly highlighting the awful position that the Foxes are in during the 2025-26 campaign.

Leicester City unlikely to be the only ones targeting Antonio
While the striker is 35 years of age, there is absolutely no doubt over his ability, and the Jamaican international would hate for his career to finish how it has done.
Brentford looked set to sign Antonio back in October, but with the former Hammers man now appearing on television, the move clearly fell through, and he is back on the market.
The veteran is always rearing to go, so a return to the Championship would not be at all surprising, and with Leeds also previously tipped to sign Antonio, clubs are looking at him as a real option.
It has been a very sad ending to such a long career, not even being given a farewell at the London Stadium, but his story might not yet be over if the Foxes offer him a deal.
