Leicester City fans rip into ‘total liability’ after ‘terrible’ display vs Watford
Leicester City suffered yet another frustrating afternoon as they were beaten 2-1 by Watford on home turf on Boxing Day.
The Foxes were dismantled 4-1 away at QPR in their last outing, a defeat which brought their recent resurgence in the Championship to an abrupt halt.
Leicester are facing a potential points deduction due to their failure to comply with PSR restrictions in recent seasons, and their struggles behind the scenes have been matched by plenty of misery on the pitch.
Marti Cifuentes’ side took an early lead on Boxing Day through Jordan James, but the hosts roared back to take all three points with goals from Othmane Maamma and Matthew Pollock.
The East Midlands outfit have been left languishing in 13th after their fourth defeat in their last seven league games, and frustrations have quickly set in among supporters once again.

Leicester fans want to see the back of Caleb Okoli
Cifuentes was under huge pressure at Leicester at the start of December after a string of poor results, and that could soon return after another pair of stinging defeats.
The Spanish boss only joined the Foxes from QPR in the summer, but he’s struggled to have any sort of impact at his new club, who are freshly relegated from the Premier League this term.
He was left to rue individual errors again on Boxing Day, when Caleb Okoli saw his clearance charged down to set the visitors on the counter-attack, which led to their equaliser on the stroke of half-time.
It was a huge mistake at a key stage of the game, and the importance of the error hasn’t been lost on the Leicester fans.
One supporter branded the defender as a “total liability,” while another noted that it was a “terrible” display from the stopper.
Another fan labelled the 24-year-old as a “fraud,” and there was also a suggestion that his distribution is “woeful.”
- @Wilson_1605: “Okoli can’t pass a ball to save his life.”
- @Deanobt: “Unfortunately that’s why Okoli will never challenge anyone for a starting spot.”
- @Sparky__26: “Okoli had to be the worst Italian centre half ever. Awful.”
Pressure to mount again on Marti Cifuentes amid New Year run
Russell Martin was briefly linked with the Leicester job while Cifuentes was under pressure a few weeks ago, and he will surely be keeping a close eye on developments at the King Power Stadium in the coming weeks.
The Foxes face a tricky East Midlands clash with Derby County in their next outing, before a trip to take on a resurgent Sheffield United on New Year’s Day.
A slightly more inviting clash against struggling West Brom awaits, but whether Cifuentes survives to see that game may hinge on his team’s next two assignments.
The 43-year-old has still been unable to instil any sort of consistency in this Leicester side, and he will surely pay the price for that sooner rather than later if their issues continue.
