Leicester City file official paperwork as big-name exit confirmed
Leicester City have confirmed former chief executive Susan Whelan has left her role as a director at the King Power Stadium.
A Companies House submission on Thursday (27 November) revealed Whelan’s position on the Leicester board has now been officially terminated.
Whelan spent 15 years as Leicester CEO before her departure – a period in which the club enjoyed great success on the pitch.
During her time at the King Power, the Foxes won the Premier League and the FA Cup, while they also featured in the Champions League.
Following Whelan’s departure, Leicester’s board now consists of chairman Aiyawatt ‘Top’ Srivaddhanaprabha, vice-chairman Apichet Srivaddhanaprabha and director Shilai Liu.

Marti Cifuentes sack update emerges after Leicester latest
Whelan has been forced to navigate Leicester through various difficult situations over the past few years at the King Power.
Leicester were relegated from the Premier League in 2022-23 following a dismal campaign.
Former manager Enzo Maresca led the Foxes back to the top flight at the first attempt in 2023-24, but another poor campaign under Steve Cooper and Ruud van Nistelrooy saw them relegated to the second tier again last season.
Marti Cifuentes was appointed as the Leicester manager over the summer, but he’s endured a challenging opening few months in charge.

The Foxes slipped to 15th place in the Championship following their 3-0 defeat against Southampton on Tuesday (25 November).
Football Insider revealed on Friday (28 November) Cifuentes is facing the sack if Leicester don’t start moving up the table soon.
Leicester’s likely points deduction revealed
Whelan’s departure comes at a time when Leicester are facing a potential points deduction.
The East Midlands side were charged with breaching the profit and sustainability rules (PSR) for 2022-23, but they avoided a points deduction after exploiting a loophole in the rules.

However, Leicester were charged in May with an alleged breach of the EFL’s financial rules for 2023-24 – the year they secured promotion back to the Premier League.
It is understood the Foxes’ case would be heard this week after being handed three charges.
Finance expert Stefan Borson told Football Insider Leicester are likely to receive a six-point deduction if the verdict goes against them.
