Leicester City to open Enzo Maresca talks as offer readied – sources
Leicester City are confident of fending off interest in Enzo Maresca after sealing promotion to the Premier League, sources have told Football Insider.
Maresca has received interest from a number of top clubs, including his former side Sevilla, where he spent four years during his playing career.
The Foxes are set to offer the Italian manager a new contract as a reward for securing an immediate return to the Premier League, and talks over that could get underway in the coming days.
The 44-year-old has two years left on his current deal at the King Power Stadium, having joined the club from Manchester City in 2023.
Leicester City to hand Enzo Maresca new contract
It’s been an excellent first season in charge of Leicester for Maresca after steadying the ship and getting them back up to the Premier League at the first attempt.
There was plenty of doom and gloom surrounding the Foxes following their relegation, but he managed to get a tune out of several players who struggled to cut it in the top flight last season.
They saw off Preston North End 3-0 on 29 April to wrap up the Championship title after recording three straight victories in a row following a slight wobble in previous weeks.
Maresca has now earned the trust of the Leicester board and they clearly feel he deserves to be rewarded with a new deal.

Although there would be some emotional attachment should Sevilla try and steal Maresca away from the King Power, there is a good chance he’ll want to stay on and complete the job he started last summer.
The work will already be going on behind the scenes at Leicester to put the club in the best possible position to remain in the Premier League next season and he will no doubt be a key part of that.
