Leicester City told to appoint ‘perfect’ manager with ‘points deduction incoming’
Leicester City are ready to part with manager Ruud van Nistelrooy after a miserable spell in charge at the King Power Stadium.
He has won just two of his 20 Premier League games in charge at Leicester, drawing a further two games.
Meanwhile, finance expert Stefan Borson exclusively told Football Insider (11 April) that Leicester have a Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR) “problem” this season following their heavy financial losses.
Borson revealed Leicester’s PSR issue will fall into the EFL’s hands following their relegation.
Everton’s former chief Keith Wyness – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – insisted the Foxes have a “perfect” option available to them as they look to navigate a tricky 2025-26 campaign in the Championship.
‘Dyche is the perfect guy for Leicester’, says Wyness
Football Insider revealed on Tuesday (22 April) that Leicester are readying a move for Sean Dyche as they prepare for life after Van Nistelrooy.
Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, Wyness insisted the ex-Everton boss would be the “perfect manager” for the Foxes.
Dyche is without a job after being sacked at Goodison Park in January and replaced with David Moyes.

Wyness told Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast: “Dyche, as we know with Everton, has handled some tricky ownership and budget situations.
“He’s also handled some tricky points deductions.
“That makes him the perfect manager to go into Leicester, because they are facing a combination of all three right now.
“If Sean is a glutton for punishment, he’s the perfect guy.
“He’s got great Championship experience with Burnley, he understands that level – it’s a good fit.
“He’s tough, resilient – and he’s got the hard yards in management.
“If Leicester are lucky enough to get him, he’d be a great choice.
“Leicester are heading into uncharted areas for most managers, but not for Sean Dyche.”

Leicester hit by £70m+ blow
Leicester suffered a £72million hit in revenue last season following their relegation to the Championship.
The Foxes’ latest accounts for 2023-24 revealed overall turnover fell from £177million in 2022-23 to £105million.
Enzo Maresca helped the club secure an immediate return to the top flight in 2023-24 before joining Chelsea last summer – but they will return to the second tier next season.
