Leicester City told to make 'emergency' signing after 'absolutely horrendous' sighting - pundit

Danny Ward was so bad against Tottenham that Leicester City should make an emergency goalkeeper signing.

That is according to Spurs insider John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.

Ward, 29, has started all of Leicester’s seven Premier League games this season, conceding 22 goals as the club remain winless.

Club icon Kasper Schmeichel left the club in the summer with the Wales international stepping into the gap.

After watching Ward concede six against Tottenham on Saturday (17 September), Wenham claims an emergency singing is needed.

“Leceister’s goalkeeper, I do need to discuss this,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“That was absolutely horrendous, the whole thing. He made one good save in the first half, credit to him.

“But it was so bad that I feel Leicester need to make an emergency application to the Premier League for dispensation for a new goalkeeper.

“That can’t continue until January, there has to be something else. The falloff from the levels of Kasper Schmeichel in terms of goalkeeping ability and what he brought to the team.

“To sell him for only £1million and to replace him with that is negligent, it really is, on behalf of Leicester.”

The Foxes are rock bottom of the Premier League with Brendan Rodgers under severe pressure after a run of seven winless games.

Their next game is against fellow strugglers Nottingham Forest on 3 October.
