Leicester fans want ‘useless’ star axed after ‘disastrous’ display vs Bristol City: ‘When will we see the last of him?’
Leicester City fans have been left seething after their team drew 2-2 away at Bristol City on Wednesday night.
The Foxes remain in the bottom half of the Championship table, as they squandered a two-goal lead in the second half, after goals from Jordan Ayew and Bobby Reid had put them in a commanding position.
Marti Cifuentes has been under huge pressure at Leicester of late, and Football Insider recently revealed that he could have been facing the sack had his team not won away at Derby County last weekend.
The Spaniard and his group have come under fire from Leicester supporters in recent weeks, and they wasted no time in laying the blame after their collapse against Bristol City.

Leicester fans rip into Jannik Vestergaard after Bristol City draw
Football Insider recently revealed that Leicester could be in line for a nine-point deduction, as they continue to be investigated for alleged breaches of PSR rules.
That could land the Foxes in serious trouble despite their recent mini-resurgence, as they currently find themselves just 11 points clear of the bottom three.
On the face of it, Wednesday’s draw away from home against a play-off chasing side was far from a bad result for the East Midlands outfit, but fans have been left frustrated with the manner in which their team threw away their lead.
Several supporters have directed their anger towards centre-back Jannik Vestergaard, who has been torn apart on X for his performance at Ashton Gate.
One fan branded the Dane’s display in the midweek draw as “disastrous,” while another questioned when they would “see the last” of him.
Another even labelled Vestergaard as a “phenomenon” due to his lack of aerial prowess despite his imposing stature.
- @Ashleypp1986: “Vestergaard is useless, always flat-footed and hardly wins a header.”
- @RizLCFC: “(Jakub) Stolarczyk and Vestergaard have been awful today.”
- @epnaca55lcfc: “Vestergaard standing there again wondering how another player got goalside of him.”
Leicester’s difficult festive schedule
Leicester’s win over Derby has eased the immediate pressure on Cifuentes, but that could quickly return in the coming weeks.
The East Midlands outfit have some difficult assignments between now and the new year, with a home clash against Ipswich Town next on the agenda this weekend.
That is followed up by a trip to play-off hopefuls QPR, before home meetings with Watford and Derby round out 2025.
The game against Sheffield United on New Year’s Day is the next time that Cifuentes’ men meet somebody currently below them in the table, but even they have been resurgent of late, and won at the King Power recently.
The boss has kept his job safe for now, but the walls could be about to close in on him once again if his team return to their recent slump in the coming weeks.
