Alan Hutton has tipped Leicester City to pull off “a steal” for Celtic striker Odsonne Edouard this summer.
The former Scotland defender, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, insisted the Hoops will be gutted they cannot demand a hefty price tag.
As revealed by Football Insider on Tuesday (8th June), Edouard has told friends he is quitting Celtic to join Leicester after agreeing personal terms.
The Scottish Sun claim a fee of around £15million has been agreed between the clubs.
He is now into the final 12 months of his contract at Parkhead.
Hutton insisted Leicester would be getting a great deal if they could get Edouard for less than £20million.
However, he admitted Celtic would be feeling bittersweet about the deal.
“I think it’s a steal, £15-18million. I think it’s a perfect price,” Hutton told Football Insider assistant editor Russell Edge.
“On one hand, Celtic paid what, just over £9million? So they’re doubling their money so they will be happy to an extent.
“With everything that’s going on, it’s probably affected all the transfer fees all over the world. I’m sure at one time they were talking £25-30million so on that hand they will be disappointed.
“They are getting a good deal, Leicester that is. I would say Celtic slightly, with them doubling their money.
“Out of it all, I think Leicester are definitely getting the best deal.”
Edouard has scored 83 times in 168 appearances for Celtic to date.
He signed a four-year contract when he joined for a club record £9million back in 2018.
