Leicester’s Conor Coady links-up with Aston Villa ace Tyrone Mings

Leicester City centre-back Conor Coady has taken to social media to reveal a link up with Aston Villa ace Tyrone Mings following the end of the season.

It was a difficult campaign for Coady and his Foxes side, as they suffered relegation from the Premier League following just a single season in the top-flight.

Leicester are now also facing a points deduction for breaching PSR that will make it even harder for them to get back to that level next season.

There was also frustration at the end of the season for Mings, with Aston Villa controversially being denied Champions League qualification due to their final day defeat at Man United.

Conor Coady and Tyrone Mings enjoy holiday meet up

With the season now over, both players have been taking a break from football with some time away, but still managed to come into contact with each other.

Mings signed a new contract with Aston Villa this week, ensuring he can now relax when it comes to his future.

By contrast, Coady saw efforts to return to former club Wolves fail back in the winter, so questions may still be asked about what comes next for him.

Even so, the Leicester player seemed in good spirits as he took to his Instagram story on Thursday (5 June), where he posted a picture of himself alongside Mings as the pair enjoyed their holidays.

He then tagged the Aston Villa captain in that post, before adding the caption: “Not many better than this guy”.

Football Insider Verdict

As one of the more senior players in the squad and given he is still under contract, Leicester may be keen to keep Coady for next season.

With the challenging position they face, having his experience and leadership could certainly help guide some of the younger individuals through a tough time.

However, Coady himself may not want to face that if he feels he could secure a move elsewhere, especially after those links with his old club earlier this year.

That could give him some temptation to move on, although it remains to be seen if interest will emerge in him again this summer.

As a result, it could be a busy period with plenty of questions for the centre-back at Leicester once he returns from his well-earned break.
