Lennon Miller: ‘Bids rejected’, this is where Celtic stand in the race

Celtic are “very much interested” in signing Motherwell star Lennon Miller, sources have told Football Insider.

Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, senior correspondent Pete O’Rourke revealed that Motherwell are looking to “sell to the highest bidder” in the summer transfer window.

Miller is widely sought after at the moment after breaking out during his time with the Steelmen, and that led to several bids being rejected for him in the past.

Udinese and Union Saint-Gilles both attempted to sign the 18-year-old during the January transfer window, but they were knocked back by Motherwell.

Motherwell are looking for just short of £10million for him if they are willing to accept an offer to sell the midfielder.

Miller has built up plenty of experience in the Scottish Premiership and that is why Celtic are so interested in signing him to try and keep him in Scotland.

Celtic will face competition for Lennon Miller

Celtic want to add Miller to their squad as he is seen as one of the most impressive young prospects to have come out of Scotland in the last decade.

However, they are slated to face competition from Ligue 1 side Lyon in the summer transfer window as they are also looking to sign Miller.

The teenager is seen as someone who has a “very high ceiling” and that is why teams are set to fight it out for him during the summer.

Lennon Miller would bolster Celtic’s midfield

Miller is a proven commodity and has the quality to be immediately placed into the starting lineup at Celtic Park if he is signed.

Celtic supporters have urged the club to financially back Brendan Rodgers this summer after his impressive work since returning to the club.

Football Insider revealed that Celtic have earned an additional £38million in prize money after their performances in Europe this season, which could be reinvested into the team.
