Leny Yoro and Kobbie Mainoo were pictured with former Man United star Paul Pogba amid rumours the Frenchman is set to finally join a new club this summer.

The 32-year-old midfielder has been without a club since leaving Juventus in November 2024.

Pogba was handed a four-year ban from football after failing a drug test, but that suspension was later reduced to 18 months [The Athletic].

During his time away from the sport, the midfield maestro’s legend has grown and memories of his dismal second stint in Turin have been swiftly forgotten.

And with his suspension having finished in March, the World Cup winner is expected to join a new club this summer.

United fans had been keen to see Pogba return to the club back in March, but the Frenchman’s next destination appears to be in his homeland.

Paul Pogba set to sign two-year deal with AS Monaco

BBC Sport reported on 13 June that Pogba was in talks with Ligue 1 side AS Monaco over a two-year contract, and Le Parisien has reported since then that a deal has been agreed between club and player.

Preparing for his return to top-flight football, the French midfielder has been training with current United players Yoro and Mainoo.

Pogba shared an image of the trio, which Yoro then reposted to his Instagram story.

Man United gear up for Champions League charge with Yoro key

Football Insider Verdict

Yoro suffered an injury during pre-season last summer, delaying his debut with the Red Devils until their 2-0 loss to Arsenal in December.

Despite the inauspicious start to his career with the 20-time champions of England, the French defender quietly became a key part of Ruben Amorim’s side.

Yoro was the best United player on the pitch in their Europa League final loss to Tottenham and put in consistently strong performances, despite the Red Devils’ disappointing season as a team.

Having missed out on European football and registered their worst Premier League finish this century, the club have responded by aggressively pursuing upgrades for their squad.

Matheus Cunha has joined United from Wolves, and Bryan Mbeumo is expected to follow in the near future.

With Yoro headlining their defence and more options in attacking departments, Amorim’s side looks poised to make a serious push for a return to the upper echelons of the Premier League next term.
