Leny Yoro responds to Man United’s ‘fantastic’ message to Amad Diallo
Leny Yoro reacted on social media as Amad Diallo received a heartfelt message from the official Man United media team.
The young centre-back has made a decent impression since arriving at Old Trafford on a £52million deal from Lille last summer [BBC Sport], going on to make 33 appearances, even scoring once in that time.
His teammate, Amad, on the other hand, experienced a frustrating 2024/25 campaign despite notching 11 goals and eight assists across all competitions, having picked up a long-term injury in February.
Ruben Amorim finally looked to have found his key attacking figure in the 23-year-old Ivory Coast international before sustaining his ankle injury, but he now looks ready and fit for the new season.
Despite only just turning 23 years of age, with over half a century of appearances for United, multiple youngsters in the squad will be looking up to him, with a difficult season ahead for the Red Devils.

Amad Diallo celebrates milestone at Man United
Taking to Instagram (11 July), the official club account wrote: “Have a fantastic birthday, Amad,” with a celebratory emoji, with the post being liked by his teammate Yoro.
The attacker has been with United since January 2021, experiencing loan spells with Rangers and Sunderland before finally settling down with the Red Devils last summer.
Few players registered more goal contributions than Amad last season, ending his campaign with a goal in the 2-0 win over Aston Villa on the last day of the Premier League season.
Ruben Amorim to build around youngsters at Old Trafford
Football Insider verdict
While Yoro is a rare success of United’s overspending in recent transfer windows, the club’s tactic of spending big has generally backfired for the last few managers.
Amorim, who is already under pressure at Man United, still needs a summer transfer window before being judged by the Old Trafford faithful, with the current squad not good enough to fit his playing style.

Matheus Cunha has already been added to the squad, joining from Wolves on a big-money deal, and Football Insider understands that Bryan Mbeumo will be a Man United player.
While Victor Lindelof and Christian Eriksen have both left as free agents, there is a lot more deadwood in the squad that needs to be sold before any more deals can be done.
Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s cost-cutting measures could increase, wanting to reduce the current wage bill by £300million, Football Insider understands, and that could benefit Amorim in the transfer market.
