Leny Yoro sends message to Man United fans after key development

Man United defender Leny Yoro took to social media to send a message to the fans after their 2-1 Europa League win over Rangers on Thursday (January 23).

The 19-year-old was hooked off in the late win over Rangers in the 55th minute, ending his game with a zero per cent tackle success rate, zero Aerial duels won, and one clearance made.

Ruben Amorim’s side went 1-0 up in the 52nd minute after former goalkeeper Jack Butland misjudged the flight of the ball from a corner and punched it into the back of his own net.

Harry Maguire’s missed header allowed Cyriel Dessers to bag the equaliser in the 88th minute, and Rangers looked well on their way to earning a valuable point at Old Trafford.

Captain Bruno Fernandes was on hand to bag a late winner, latching on to Lisandro Martinez’s lopping pass and scoring on the volley.

Leny Yoro still finding his feet at Man United after blockbuster summer deal

United reportedly beat the likes of Real Madrid to Yoro’s signature, making him the most expensive player aged 18 or younger in a deal worth £52million in the summer of 2024.

The young centre-back is yet to establish himself at United, starting six of his 12 games across all competitions, and failing to provide a goal contribution in his 582 minutes of action.

Yoro took to Instagram after the 2-1 Europa League win over Rangers to celebrate their victory, saying: “In the right direction.”

United’s win over the Scottish side sees them climb up to fourth in the new Europa League league phase, with 15 points from their seven games, with just a trip to Romanian side FCSB remaining.

Amorim’s attention will be back on the Premier League for now, however, as they make the trip to London for a game against Fulham on Sunday (January 26).
