Football Insider Verdict
Whilst Wirtz still has a lot to prove in a Liverpool shirt, the German was a big money purchase during the summer and Reds will not want to lose him for a lower fee next year.
Wirtz rejected Bayern Munich’s advances during the summer in favour of a move to Anfield, and at 22, many will hope the German stays put long-term.
