Levy has robbed Nuno of full Tottenham rebuild with latest Kane failure – Pundit

Frank McAvennie can’t understand why Tottenham haven’t sold Harry Kane after their impressive start to the Premier League season.

The former West Ham striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, also claimed Nuno Espirito Santo may have wanted the striker to be sold.

Tottenham are unbeaten in the Premier League and beat Manchester City 1-0 during the opening weekend.

Kane was not involved against Man City but returned off the bench as Spurs beat Wolves on Sunday.

On 18th August, The Telegraph reported that Kane’s camp believe City have placed a new bid worth £125million.

However is was also claimed Levy is refusing to pick up the phone to City chiefs as they are yet to match Kane’s reported £150million price tag.

McAvennie doesn’t understand why Kane is still at the club.

“Man City started slowly last year and won the league,” McAvennie told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“Listen, I’m not saying a good start is a bad thing but there’s no point in getting carried away.

“The thing for me is if you can beat City without Kane then just sell him.

“Tottenham have been accused of relying on Kane in the past, clearly that’s not an issue.

“Everything is telling me they should sell him but Levy won’t do it.

“You would think Nuno wants that money because this still isn’t his squad.

“He’s almost been robbed of a fresh start because he could have rebuilt the entire team with the Kane money.”

Tottenham have lost in the UEFA Conference League this season.

A very young and inexperienced Spurs side lost 1-0 to Pacos de Ferreira last week.
