'Liability', 'Absolutely woeful' - Tottenham fans slaughter 24-year-old display v Crystal Palace

By Aramide Oladipo

Tottenham supporters have taken to social media to express their disappointment as summer signing Serge Aurier’s performance against Crystal Palace on Sunday.

Mauricio Pochettino’s men rounded off a fine week with another win at Wembley Stadium after forward Heung Min-Son notched up the only goal in the London derby.

Bottom of the table Palace fought hard but the hosts broke the deadlock just after the hour-mark which enabled them to go level on points with Manchester United.

The 1-0 win follows up from their fantastic victory in the Champions League against Spanish giants Real Madrid in midweek.

Despite securing an important win, Spurs fans were quick to single out new recruit Aurier for his display throughout the 90 minutes.

The 24-year-old was left on the substitutes bench for the entirety of the midweek European tie after conceding a penalty in the reverse fixture at the Bernabeu.

Since completing a permanent move to the North London club this summer, the Ivorian has endured a mixed start to his Spurs career.

The defender impressed on his debut in the 3-1 Champions League win over Borussia Dortmund but he was sent off in the London derby against West Ham United.

Aurier will be hopeful that he can enjoy more game time after the international break.
