Liam Cooper delivers Twitter verdict on Leeds win against Brighton
By Danny Wright
Liam Cooper has taken to Twitter to hail some “massive performances” from Leeds players in their victory against Brighton on Saturday evening.
The 25-year-old was a surprise inclusion in Garry Monk’s starting 11 after failing to appear in a league game since mid-February.
He played a huge role as Leeds earned a clean sheet as they went on to win 2-0 against second-placed Brighton, who could have toppled Newcastle at the top of the Championship if they picked up all three points.
It was the only the centre-back’s 13th start of the season but he impressed the Leeds fans with a solid performance and praised the Elland Road faithful for the role they played in the victory.
“Big win and massive performances all over. Elland road was bouncing! The best I’ve heard it,” said Cooper on his personal Twitter account.

The ex-Hull and Chesterfield man was making his 89th appearances for the West Yorkshire club in all competitions.
Cooper has struggled to get game time after he was sent off in the shock 1-0 loss to non-league Sutton in the FA Cup and had played just once before Saturday’s game since that loss.
Monk’s side are now unbeaten in their last seven matches and it was the first win Cooper has taken part in since the 2-1 win over Cambridge in the Cup.
Leeds are now fourth in the Championship standings and eight points clear of Fulham, who sit just outside the play-off places, after they were beaten 3-1 by Wolves.
