Liam Delap to reject Man United – ‘he’s very impressed by Everton’
Liam Delap is already one of the summer window’s hottest properties following his impressive first full Premier League season with Ipswich Town.
Football Insider revealed last week (24 May) that Man United’s Europa League final loss will not see them withdraw from the race for Delap.
However, the 22-year-old has also been attracting interest from the likes of Everton, Newcastle and Chelsea with the window set to open on 1 June.
Delap, who can move on this summer for £30million, hit 12 Premier League goals in 37 top-flight appearances but could not prevent Ipswich from being relegated to the Championship this term.
Everton’s former chief Keith Wyness – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – has revealed the highly-rated striker has been “very impressed” with the pitch presented to him by Toffees chiefs.

Delap should join ‘club on the up’ in Everton, says Wyness
Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, Wyness insisted Delap should look to join a “club on the up” – rather than head to the “car crash” at Man United.
Ruben Amorim‘s side finished 15th in the Premier League and will be without European football next season after losing the Europa League final against Tottenham.
Wyness insisted United is a “very unhappy place” with the dressing room “in turmoil” after their 2024-25 campaign.

He told Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast: “Liam Delap, it’s previously been said, would consider moving to a club with European football – it’s not the case with Man United.
“Any player moving to United has got to consider that they are a club in turmoil right now.
“It’s a very unhappy place. We know the dressing room is in turmoil.
“They’ve got to be able to attract players in, and I don’t think they’re going to be able to get some of these deals across the line.
“Delap has been talking to Newcastle and Everton.
“Apparently he was very impressed with the Everton pitch, so we’ll wait and see.
“I’d want to go to a club on the up, like an Everton, who have a new stadium and ownership – rather than the car crash Man United are turning into.”

Major Angel Gomes to Everton update
Meanwhile, Football Insider has revealed (25 May) that Everton face a difficult challenge to sign Angel Gomes ahead of Champions League clubs this summer.
England international Gomes as already confirmed his departure from Lille and will enter the market as a free agent this summer.
Everton are interested alongside Tottenham, West Ham and Marseille – who will play Champions League football next term.
