Liel Abada is ‘not happy’ at Celtic amid ‘big’ claim – pundit
Alan Hutton has suggested Liel Abada is “not happy” with his lack of game time at Celtic.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Rangers defender said Ange Postecoglou won’t want to let Abada leave but acknowledged that forcing his way into the starting lineup will be difficult.
The 21-year-old picked up an injury on international duty with Israel last week and missed out on their 1-1 draw with Kosovo on Saturday (25 March).
As quoted by footballscotland (24 March), national team boss Alon Hazan said that although the winger did “everything” to be eligible for the game at the weekend, he is facing “two or three weeks” on the sidelines.
Abada has made 41 appearances across all competitions for the Hoops but has only been in the starting XI for 17 of those matches.
Hutton suggested Abada has what it takes to break into the starting XI.
“He is obviously not happy that he is not starting week in, week out,” he told Football Insider.
“He is obviously a really good player. The problem with Celtic at this moment in time is that they have got a lot of options and he has not quite been in the starting lineup as much as he would like.
“There has been a lot of talk about him. I do not think Ange would want to let him go, he has still played minutes.

“It does not help when you go away on international duty and come back injured when you are just desperate to play football.
“He is a young guy, he has got a lot to give and Ange obviously trusts him. It is just about forcing his way into the team but it is always going to be difficult at a big club.“
