Three clubs from the top division in French football are interested in signing Celtic midfielder Eboue Kouassi, according to a report.
French football site Foot Mercato claims that Amiens, along with Nice and Stade Rennais are eager to complete a deal for the 20-year-old.
The report also claims that unnamed Belgian sides have expressed an interest in the Ivorian.
Kouassi has found it difficult to get game time for the Hoops since joining from Russian side Krasnodar for a fee worth £3million in January 2017.
Last season he made only 12 appearances for the Bhoys, and dropped out of the first-team picture altogether after a poor performance against Zenit in the Europa League.
Football Insider verdict
The case of Eboue Kouassi seems to be a strange one for the Hoops. The Bhoys did spend a lot of money, by their standards, to bring him to the club when he was only a teenager in 2017. With that in mind, it isn’t that much of a shock that a young player has not been that consistent when he has played for the first team. A loan move could do him good, as even though he is still young he really could do with some regular game time. That isn’t going to happen with the Bhoys, as the main midfield men are Scott Brown and Olivier Ntcham, and with all the will in the world Kouassi is nowhere near at the level of those two players. It is still too early to give up on his time with the Hoops, and he still has three years to go on his contract in Glasgow. But he really could be doing with playing football on a regular basis, and a move to France could suit him down to the ground.
