Liverpool are making “concrete” progress in their bid to sign Monaco winger Thomas Lemar in June, according to a report.
French outlet Le10 Sport claim the Premier League giants are working on a deal to sign the France international during the summer transfer window.
It is said that Liverpool have taken key steps to agreeing the terms of a contract with Lemar, 22, following recent conversations.
Le 10 Sport report that the deal is not done yet but the English club are close to getting a “yes” from the player and will then be able to table a formal bid.
Monaco are ready to sanction the sale of Lemar this summer after rejecting offers worth up to £70million from Liverpool and Arsenal last summer.
Football Insider verdict:
Take one look at Lemar’s stats this season and you could be forgiven for wondering what all the fuss is about with the eight-times France international. His 27 matches in all competitions have yielded eight assists and three goals, a far cry from his stunning 2016-17 campaign in which he banged in 14 goals for a team that was the talk of Europe. Monaco’s standards have slipped after selling many of their star men, and it appears another fire sale is likely this summer. Liverpool are in the market for a playmaker who can operate centrally or out wide following the January exit of Philippe Coutinho, and their interest in Lemar has not died down after last summer.
In other Liverpool transfer news, Sky have claimed that the Merseyside giants have already made phone calls about signing BRILLIANT Tottenham player this summer.
