Liverpool and Rangers stars respond to emotional message from new Arsenal signing
Arsenal’s transfer rebuild continues as their newest summer signing said an emotional goodbye to his Valencia team-mates.
Mikel Arteta‘s side are expected to take their spending beyond £200million this summer once the highly-anticipated arrival of Viktor Gyokeres is confirmed, with five new additions already through the doors.
Martin Zubimendi and possibly Noni Madueke are both likely to take starting places in Arteta’s side after their moves from Real Sociedad and Chelsea respectively, but Arsenal have also addressed squad depth.
Kepa Arrizabalaga also arrived from Chelsea on 1 July and was followed by Brentford captain Christian Norgaard nine days later, and Arsenal have now confirmed the signing of another option in a key position.

Cristhian Mosquera farewells Valencia as Arsenal move confirmed
Arteta is unlikely to move away from Gabriel and William Saliba as his first-choice centre-back pairing any time soon, but Arsenal were in need of additional depth for the exit-linked Jakub Kiwior in the middle.
The Gunners have now addressed this by establishing that Kiwior isn’t for sale and agreeing a deal to sign Valencia defender Cristhian Mosquera, a deal which they have since completed for the 21-year-old.
Mosquera became Arsenal’s fifth arrival of the summer after his move was announced on Thursday, and the Spanish youth international said goodbye to Valencia in a post on Instagram which said: “Thank you from the heart, always up”.
Max Aarons and Giorgi Mamardashvili had already left Valencia this summer in moves to Rangers and Liverpool respectively, and both commented on Mosquera’s post to call him their “brother”.
Arsenal spending set to continue amid Liverpool developments
Football Insider Verdict
Valencia losing Mamardashvili, Aarons and now Mosquera this summer leaves Los Che without their first-choice goalkeeper or half of last season’s backline, but their loss may well be the Premier League’s gain.
Mamardashvili’s move to Liverpool gives Arne Slot another top-class keeper to choose from alongside Alisson, and it’s no surprise to see Arsenal spending heavily in order to close the gap next season.
The impending arrivals of Gyokeres and potentially Eberechi Eze will certainly aid Arsenal’s efforts to overcome their title drought, but it remains to be seen if that will be enough to match the spending spree going on at Anfield this summer.
