Liverpool: Andy Robertson stance on Celtic move revealed as summer exit looms
Andy Robertson is a summer transfer target for Celtic and could be lured back to his native Scotland with the right offer this summer.
The Hoops are keen to bring the 32-year-old back to his boyhood club if he becomes available on a free transfer when his Liverpool contract expires.
However, as I revealed on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Transfer Insider podcast, Robertson has doubts about signing for Celtic this summer.
The left-back has a number of admirers from across Europe, including the likes of Tottenham and Atletico Madrid, and is keen to continue playing at the top level.
Martin O’Neill’s side are also not thought to be prioritising a left-back ahead of a busy summer for Celtic, but the opportunity to sign a player like Robertson has proved inviting.

Football Insider revealed on 15 March that Celtic are pulling on Robertson’s heart strings in an attempt to lure him away from Liverpool this summer.
Much will depend on the Scotland international’s stance, with a strong possibility that he could yet sign a new contract with Liverpool before the season is over.
He will weigh up his options, whether to stay at Anfield, pursue a move to Europe, or return to Scotland with his boyhood club, although the latter is unlikely.
As I revealed on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Transfer Insider podcast, I explained: “Robertson is a boyhood Celtic fan, it’s a move that would tug on the heart strings.
“But I don’t think there’s any more to it than that right now.
“It does seem that Robertson and Liverpool are willing to make a decision at the end of the season and they won’t rush into anything.
“It’ll be Robertson’s decision what he wants to do. At this stage of his career, he still probably want to play at the highest level possible.
“I’m sure there’ll be rival Premier League interest in Robeson’s signature if he does become a free agent and I think there’ll be interest from abroad as well.

“He’s had interest from Tottenham of course and Atletico Madrid as well last summer.
“So I think it’ll be a difficult deal to do for Celtic at this stage, I’m not sure it’s something he will be entirely keen on if other clubs come calling.
Will Liverpool offer Robertson a new contract?
Amid speculation that a number of clubs are attempting to lure Robertson away upon the expiry of his contract, the left-back could stay put.
Football Insider revealed on 14 March that Liverpool will offer a contract to Robertson, but it will be up to the player whether or not he chooses to sign.
The left-back confirmed after scoring in the Reds’ win against Wolves that he is committed to the club, but provided little clarity over his long-term position.

It has been a disappointing season at Anfield so far, but Liverpool are planning to improve in the summer and hope Robertson will remain part of their squad.
His performances when called upon under Arne Slot have convinced the chief decision-makers that the Scotland international still has plenty to offer.
