Liverpool are ‘amazing success story’ after smashing club record
Liverpool have dramatically improved their financial situation after winning the Premier League title last season.
Football Insider revealed on 20 January Liverpool’s revenue had surpassed £700million after being crowned champions under Arne Slot.
That has been backed up by figures released in Deloitte’s 2026 Money League, where it revealed Liverpool’s turnover surged from £614m in 2023-24 to £702m last season – marking a new club record and the highest total in the Premier League.
Although the report indicated a rise in commercial revenue from £288m to £307m, the Reds’ official accounts revealed their income in that department stood at £308m in 2023-24, suggesting the two parties break those figures down differently.
Elsewhere, Liverpool’s broadcast revenue increased from £204m to £269m following their return to the Champions League and title success, while matchday income also received a boost after improving from £102m to £126m last season.

How Liverpool posted record-breaking revenue
Former Man City financial adviser Stefan Borson exclusively told Football Insider Liverpool’s revenue surpassing £700m is an “amazing success story”.
The Merseyside giants generated the fifth-highest revenue in Europe last season, with Real Madrid coming out on top with a turnover of £975m.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, Borson said: “It’s an amazing success story to get to £700m. Clearly, they’ve finally broken through on matchday by putting in the new seats.
“They’re not quite up there with United, but they are up there with the Spurs of this world at £126m, which compares favourably with Bayern Munich as well. They still have got some way to go to get to where Real Madrid, Barcelona and even United are.

“I think they’re going to struggle really to push that much higher without further seats, just because there is a natural limit in terms of what they can charge.
“There would be a lot of pushback I think from the core supporters if they were to try and really ramp up matchday ticket prices, so I think that that’s always going to be a bit of a struggle for them.”
How Liverpool blew Man United away after £100m reveal
Borson revealed Liverpool generated more than £100m in broadcast revenue than Man United, who finished 15th in the Premier League last season.
“Broadcast, obviously in a season where you do quite well in the Champions League and you win the league, you’re going to have around about £270m of broadcast revenue,” said Borson.
“That compares similarly with Manchester City, Arsenal, etc. In terms of Uefa, the historic payments are slightly lower for Liverpool versus City. City are right at the top of that league table from a Uefa perspective. But obviously, if you win the league, you’re going to get the highest amount of merit payment from the Premier League.

“I mean, if you look at it, interestingly, just to contextualise versus Manchester United, it’s £100m more last season on broadcast alone. So, you can sort of see the impact of Manchester United’s lack of success and that’s even in a season, of course, where Manchester United got to the Europa League final.
“That’s the importance really of the Champions League and the Premier League is circa £3m a place.”
Meanwhile, Liverpool’s wage bill surged from £386m to £421m last season due to the bonuses owed to players and staff after winning their 20th English title.
