Liverpool are ‘working on multiple new signings’, Arne Slot is ‘happy’
Liverpool are already working to identify players in key positions ahead of the summer window after what was a slow mid-season window at Anfield.
There had been suggestions that Arne Slot was left frustrated by the lack of backing, despite their massive summer spending, as his squad remains short of depth.
However, former Man United chief scout Mick Brown told Football Insider that Slot is content with his squad and working with the club to plan for the future.
The Reds completed just one transfer in the January window, the £60million arrival of Rennes defender Jeremy Jacquet who will arrive in the summer.
That is despite their shortage of options at centre-back and at right-back, with many insisting reinforcements should have been prioritised in both positions.

Liverpool and Arne Slot make summer transfer plans
The Reds’ summer transfer plans have already begun with the addition of Jacquet, while Football Insider revealed Liverpool want to sign Adam Wharton.
While the lack of mid-season activity is believed to be a concern given their disappointing start, there are no immediate frustrations from the manager’s side.
“I don’t think there’s a question about whether Slot is being backed,” Brown told Football Insider.
“The plan has been to get by until the end of the season with what they’ve got, and the injury to Conor Bradley is a concern but they can get through.
“They didn’t want to go out and buy a stop-gap just for them to be on the bench next season.
“So the stories about Slot maybe being frustrated with the transfer activity, I don’t think there’s much to it, I think he’s still happy with what he’s got.

“Of course they’ll have to do some business in the summer but I expect he and the club will already be working to identify the right players for then.
“For now, they’ll have to get by as things are because they have still got options and the injured players will return, it’s not the end of the world.”
Ibrahima Konate closes in on Liverpool exit
It is not just incoming deals which will be a focus at Liverpool come the end of the season, with Ibrahima Konate now likely to leave upon the expiry of his contract.
Brown told Football Insider on 3 February that Konate is almost certain to leave Liverpool following the arrival of Jacquet, who could be a direct replacement.
Jacquet will see out the season at Rennes before making the move to Anfield in the summer, when the 26-year-old is expected to walk away on a free.

Contract talks with Konate fell through as he has his eyes set on a move away from Anfield, and Arne Slot is now prepared to sanction his departure.
Real Madrid were strong suitors for Konate, but have since publicly pulled out of the race, while he continues to be linked with the likes of Chelsea and PSG.
