Darwin Nunez reacts to Cristiano Ronaldo message as Liverpool exit beckons
Darwin Nunez is set for the Liverpool exit door as Arne Slot vies to continue strengthening his forward line at Anfield.
The Dutchman has added firepower to his ranks via the recent addition of former Frankfurt striker Hugo Ekitike.
Ekitike’s arrival has come in a summer in which Liverpool have also made the high-profile acquisitions of Germany ace Florian Wirtz and former Bournemouth defender Milos Kerkez.
Meanwhile, Slot’s men are also witnessing notable exits, as Bayern Munich close in on Luis Diaz.

Nunez reacts to Ronaldo’s message as Liverpool exit nears
While Diaz’s Anfield exit is imminent, Nunez is also set for a Liverpool departure, after falling out of favour with Slot last term.
The Uruguay striker scored just seven goals in 47 appearances for the Reds across all competitions last season.
Meanwhile, Portugal legend Cristiano Ronaldo posted an advert on Instagram on Monday, 28 July: “Not just a fragrance, a signature.”
Ronaldo’s message attracted a like from Nunez, who remains unlikely to feature for Slot’s side next season.
Nunez exit will pave way for Slot to sign Alexander Isak
Football Insider verdict
Liverpool have added further attacking quality to their squad by signing Ekitike, who scored 22 goals in 48 appearances across all competitions for Frankfurt last season.

But the striker that the Merseyside giants want to sign the most is Newcastle United hotshot Alexander Isak, who has not travelled on the North East club’s pre-season tour of Singapore, as he looks to explore his options away from St James’ Park.
The sale of Diaz will help the Anfield side finance their move for the Sweden star, and Nunez’s exit would further open the door to sign the 25-year-old.
Slot should be able to keep both Ekitike and potential signing Isak happy next season, by rotating his starting 11 across different competitions.
But keeping a third striker in Nunez content would prove more difficult, while all signs continue to point towards the former Benfica man’s departure.
Meanwhile, young midfielder Stefan Bajcetic has been backed to leave Anfield this summer in a Liverpool News 247 exclusive.
