Liverpool and Arsenal dealt significant Dean Huijsen blow: ‘Made his mind up’
Bournemouth defender Dean Huijsen is set to leave the Cherries amid transfer interest from the likes of Arsenal and Liverpool.
But while both Arne Slot’s Reds and Mikel Arteta’s Gunners are eyeing a move for his services, the Spain international would favour a move to Anfield.
After joining Bournemouth from Juventus last summer, Huijsen has adjusted extremely well to the Premier League and his future will now lie away from Dorset.
The 20-year-old has a £50million release clause in his contract, and Andoni Iraola will not be able to retain his star man.

Real Madrid hand Arsenal and Liverpool significant Huijsen blow
Arsenal and Liverpool are not alone in their admiration of Huijsen, who has also attracted interest from Real Madrid.

Mark McAdam revealed via X [14 May]: “Real Madrid have today made contact with AFC Bournemouth regarding defender Dean Huijsen. Dialogue will continue between the two parties but the fact that Madrid have made contact would suggest Dean Huijsen has made up his mind about his move this summer.”
Madrid are set for a new era with boss Carlo Ancelotti set to join Brazil, but Huijsen’s signature could prove to be a great acquisition for Los Blancos.
Semenyo could follow Huijsen out the Bournemouth exit door
Bournemouth fans will be resigned to the fact that they are unlikely to see Huijsen playing for the Cherries next season, amid interest from Madrid coupled with his release clause.
But the Dorset club could also have to say their goodbyes to forward Antoine Semenyo, as Football Insider have exclusively revealed that Iraola’s side could part company with the Ghana international for £50m amid interest from Manchester United.
Semenyo has been a class act for the Cherries since joining from Championship outfit Bristol City in 2023, and has notched 11 goals and six assists in all competitions this term.
Losing both the 25-year-old and Huijsen in one summer would come as a major blow to Bournemouth, but the South Coast club will be pleased that Iraola is set to stay amid interest from Tottenham.
The Cherries are set for their highest Premier League finish since they came ninth 2016/17, but could be set for a difficult transfer window.
