Liverpool backed to beat Newcastle United to Jude Bellingham signing after source's reveal - pundit
Frank McAvennie has claimed Jude Bellingham won’t be put off Liverpool even if they don’t make the Champions League.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former West Ham striker suggested Bellingham is more likely to choose Liverpool over Newcastle United in the summer, even if Newcastle have European football and the Reds do not.
According to German outlet BILD, as relayed by the Daily Mail (3 February), Eddie Howe’s sign have joined the race to land the 19-year-old sensation.
The England star is receiving strong interest from clubs at home and abroad, with Liverpool, Man City and Real Madrid believed to be frontrunners to land his signature in the summer.
On 23 January, sources told Football Insider that Bellingham has no intention on putting pen to paper on a new deal offered by Borussia Dortmund.
The midfielder’s current contract at Dortmund runs until 2025 but it is highly likely that he will leave at the end of the season.

When asked if Newcastle are a more appealing team than Liverpool at the moment, McAvennie told Football Insider: “The big thing about Liverpool is that if he is a Liverpool supporter that could do it for him.
“I know they might not make the Champions League this year, but he might sign for them anyway because it will only take a year to get back there.
“He is a young boy, he has got plenty of time, just go and play football and get them back into the Champions League. I do not think they will be far away next year.
“They have just had horrendous injuries so they have got to start getting replacements.“
