Liverpool backed to sign Jude Bellingham and World Cup winner after source’s ‘two signings’ reveal – pundit
Frank McAvennie has backed Liverpool to sign Jude Bellingham and Alexis Mac Allister.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former West Ham striker insisted the Reds need to strengthen the midfield with multiple signings.
According to Spanish outlet Fichajes, as relayed by the Daily Mail (14 December), Premier League rivals Tottenham are preparing to make a move for Mac Allister, 23.
The World Cup winner has impressed during the tournament and even scored in their Group C clash against Poland.
The midfielders’ Brighton contract expires in 2025 but after helping Argentina to World Cup glory he could be looking at a January move.
On 13 December, sources told this site that Jurgen Klopp’s side are laying the groundwork for two new signings, and at least one could be done in January.
The Reds are keen to bring in two new midfielders and have set aside “huge” funds to do so.
Jude Bellingham still remains their top target and the Merseysiders are hopeful of a deal being completed in the summer.
McAvennie said that Mac Allister could be the perfect choice alongside Bellingham.
“I would suggest that Liverpool might buy Mac Allister and Bellingham,” he told Football Insider.

“There was talk of [Declan] Rice going there but I think they could take Mac Allister and Bellingham, and they would be amazing signings.
“Unfortunately, father time catches up with a lot of people. I think the players at Liverpool have done a wonderful job but they are getting overrun in the midfield.“
