Liverpool board ‘will have serious conversation’ about selling Mohamed Salah this summer – pundit
The Liverpool board will have “a very serious conversation” about whether to sell Mohamed Salah this summer.
That is the view of former Spurs and England goalkeeper Paul Robinson, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the 29-year-old’s future on Merseyside.
Salah has just over 12 months remaining on his contract at Anfield.

As quoted by Sky Sports (27 May), the Egypt international confirmed he plans to stay for next season regardless of whether comes to an agreement over a new deal.
The Athletic‘s James Pearce claimed (1 June) that the Premier League’s top scorer would prefer a move to another Premier League club next year if he cannot agree new terms.
When asked by Football Insider‘s Dylan Childs if the Reds could afford to risk losing Salah on a free in 2023, Robinson said: “It is an almost unthinkable situation, to lose Salah on a free.
“If Salah isn’t going to sign there will be a very serious conversation in the boardroom and among the coaching staff. You simply cannot afford to let a player of Salah’s quality go on a free. That would be crazy.

“You would not expect a club like Liverpool to get into this situation. The situation needs to be addressed.
“They certainly can’t afford to lose him on a free. It is a bad situation to be in for Liverpool right now.”
